Ranthambore is one of the most popular Tiger Reserves in India. The wild life in the National Park offers a thrilled and  adventure-filled experience. This is also one of the most  popular destinations for wildlife enthusiasts, as it offers a chance to see the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers in their natural habitat. Ranthambore Tiger Reserve covers an expansive area. The reserve offers rich cultural heritage. It comprises of the Ranthambore National Park, the Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary and the Keladevi Sanctuary. The reserve lies at the junction of the Aravali and Vindhya mountain ranges, and has a diverse terrain of hills, valleys, lakes, rivers and forests. The reserve was once a hunting ground for the Maharajas of Jaipur, but was declared a wildlife sanctuary later.

THE ATTRACTIONS IN THE POPULAR TIGER RESERVE.

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve has many attractions that showcases the heritage and history of Rajasthan. The most prominent one is the Ranthambore Fort, which dates back to the 10th century. The fort also houses the Trinetra Ganesh Temple.

Other attractions in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve include Raj Bagh Ruins, which are remnants of palaces and pavilions from the royal era. Kachida Valley, is a scenic spot with rocky outcrops and caves. Bakaula, is a dense forest area with many water holes which assures definite tiger sightings during the summer seasons. Lakarda and Anantpura, are generally treated as the habitats of sloth bears and hyenas. Finally the Jogi Mahal, which is an old guest house near Padam Talao is another heritage not to miss.

THE WILD SIDE OF RANTHAMBORE THE POPULAR RESERVE.

The tigers are often seen near the water sources, in Padam, Malik and Raj Bagh zones, or resting on the ruins of the ancient Ranthambore Fort that dominates the landscape.

Others than tigers, Ranthambore Tiger Reserve also hosts many other animals, such as crocodiles, jackals foxes, sloth bears, hyenas and leopards. You will not miss sambar deers, nilgais,  chitals, rhesus macaques and langurs. The reserve is also a paradise for birdwatchers, as it has several species of birds. The reserve no doubts encompasses a rich green vegetation. All these attractions and rich cultural heritage make Ranthambore, the most Popular Tiger Reserve and a dream destination among all the National Parks in India.
